Golden Lily, the icon of Florence

This coin stands out from the others, minted for Its majestic beauty. In 1724, the Grand Duke of Tuscany , Giovanni Gastone de’Medici, commissioned the best mint master of the time to design what was called "The most beautiful of the Florins", by the Grand Duke himself. This coin marked the extinction of the Medici family that had Its last descendant with Gian Gastone. The Lilied Florin or Three Gold Florins, also commonly called "Golden Ruspone".
